Crime in El Paso County is more than a headline — it affects families, neighborhoods, small businesses, and taxpayers every day. In 2025 alone, the estimated cost of crime in our county is $466 million, or about $1,603 per household. Vickie Tonkins believes public safety must be a top priority for county leadership.

As County Commissioner, she will support law enforcement, help direct resources where they are needed most, strengthen neighborhood safety, work with the Sheriff, District Attorney, courts, and local partners, and demand accountability for repeat offenders. El Paso County deserves common-sense leadership that puts safe communities, stronger families, and a better future first.

Vickie Tonkins believes public safety starts with practical action, not empty promises. Her plan focuses on backing law enforcement, assisting high-crime areas with targeted patrols and overtime, helping families and small businesses improve security, and strengthening neighborhood watch programs block by block. She will also work with the Sheriff, District Attorney, courts, and local leaders to enforce the laws already on the books, hold repeat offenders accountable, and crack down on organized retail theft. El Paso County deserves leadership that protects families, supports law enforcement, and puts public safety first.
